Magma and Intradco take equestrian air transport seriously for event flights
Magma Aviation and Intradco Global have successfully transported 34 endurance horses from Liège, Belgium, to AlUla, Saudi Arabia, for the prestigious Al Fursan Endurance Cup.
Given the high value of endurance horses, every aspect of the air transport operation was meticulously planned to ensure their safety and well-being. According to Magma’s parent company, Avia Solutions Group, careful attention was given to every stage of the journey, from pre-flight preparations to in-flight care, ensuring a stress-free experience for the animals.
The process began with selecting the appropriate horse stalls and preparing them with wooden shavings to enhance comfort and absorb moisture. The loading team, including pilots and loadmasters, worked closely with professional grooms to properly position and secure the stalls, maintaining both aircraft balance and animal welfare.
Throughout the flight, specialists monitored temperature and ventilation in the cargo hold, while in-flight grooms ensured the horses had continuous access to fresh water and hay. Communication between the grooms and pilots was essential, with pilots providing updates on any changes in flight conditions, such as turbulence or delays, to minimize stress for the animals.
Magma Aviation and Intradco Global adhere strictly to IATA Live Animals Regulations (LAR), guaranteeing the highest standards for the safe and humane transport of animals.
